Erm. sorry about that, I was overcome by the urge to say that. Anyways, I went to Penny Arcade eXpo in Bellevue, Washington with my bro and a friend. The flight up was kinda seat-of-our-pants the whole way, since we were flying standby, but we managed to make it. It was incredibly cool. There were games of all types, a tabletop room, tourneys, free arcade machines, some old some new, SCHWAG, tons of demos of new games, like the new Zelda, which looks awesome, King Kong, which looks awesome, D & D online, which looks awesome, etc. panels, including the gabe and tycho panels 1 and 2, breaking into the gaming industry, online gaming, Red vs. Blue, and many others. Met Gabe and Tycho in person, my bro and friend got stuff signed, went to the concerts, which started with the Video Game Pianist (formerly known as the blind-fold pianist) then Optimus Rhyme, and finishing up with the Neskimos, met them in person as well, they were pretty cool guys, and play hard metal/rock style video game themes. Optimus Rhyme was nerd rap basically, heh, and the Video Game Pianist should be self explanatory. All were really awesome. Next night we didn't catch as much but another pianist, MC Chris, MC frontalot (who wrote the penny arcade theme song) and the Minibosses played, all very cool. ....with the possible exclusion of the first three since I didn't see much of either of them and have heard bad things about MC Chris.... heh.
Then we got back from PAX to boring land. *cough* But then we went to an awesome lan party, had a ton o' fun, played CS source, Battlefield 2 mostly; a few people played Dawn of War. A few friends and myself played a low stakes poker game also, and it ended in a draw of sorts, with me getting 3/4 of the pot and she getting 1/4 roughly. At the end we were just kinda going back and forth anyways, heh.
I got to see a bunch of old friends of mine which was great also.
All in all, I must heartily exclaim WOOT! in a way that is most high in decibals.
Exuberance!
